Mobile App Terms of Use

1. Agreement and app license

These Mobile App Terms of Use govern your use of the Sile Qelbachin mobile application and related services (the “App”) operated by ስለ ቀልባችን. By installing, accessing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms and the Mobile App Privacy Policy.

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on a device you own or control for personal, non-commercial, educational purposes.

2. Educational content

The App provides general Islamic educational content, including Qur’an, lessons, books, audio, video, reminders, and related resources. It is not professional, medical, legal, financial, or individualized religious advice. Seek a qualified local scholar or other professional for advice about your circumstances.

Content may be edited, corrected, updated, or removed. We do not guarantee that every translation, attribution, interpretation, or reference is error-free or suitable for every purpose.

3. Your responsibilities

You must not:

• Use the App unlawfully, abusively, deceptively, or in a way that harms another person.
• Copy, sell, rent, sublicense, distribute, modify, decompile, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from the App except where applicable law expressly permits it.
• Interfere with the App, its servers, security, content-delivery systems, or other users’ access.
• Upload malicious code, spam, unlawful material, confidential information, or content that infringes another person’s rights.
• Use the App to harvest data, build a competing service, or circumvent technical restrictions.

4. Permissions, device features, and external apps

The App may ask for location to calculate prayer times, show Qibla direction, and find nearby mosques; motion-sensor access on iOS for the Qibla compass; notification permission for prayer and reminder alerts; and the Android alarm, full-screen alert, boot, vibration, wake-lock, and foreground media-playback capabilities needed to schedule alerts and play audio in the background. You may deny or later revoke optional permissions in your device settings, although the related feature may not work.

The App stores preferences and cached or downloaded educational content locally. It may open a browser, Google sign-in, Telegram, YouTube, TikTok, email, telephone, map, sharing, PDF, or app-store link when you choose an action. Those external apps and services are governed by their own terms. The App does not require access to your contacts, camera, microphone, call logs, SMS, or Bluetooth devices for its current features.

5. Accounts and user content

If the App offers accounts, you are responsible for your credentials and activity under your account. You must provide information that is accurate and keep it current. We may suspend or terminate access where needed for security, abuse prevention, legal compliance, or a material breach of these Terms.

If you send questions, feedback, or other content, you retain rights you already have in that content and grant us a worldwide, royalty-free permission to host, reproduce, format, and use it to operate, support, and improve the App. Do not submit content or personal information that you do not have the right to share.

6. Platform terms and third parties

Your download and use of the App may also be subject to Apple App Store, Google Play, or other platform terms. Those platforms are not responsible for maintaining the App or providing support for it, except where their own terms require otherwise. External links and integrated services are controlled by their respective providers and may have separate terms and privacy policies.

The App may use Supabase, Google sign-in, prayer-time and map providers, Cloudflare R2/CDN, Shorebird, and platform services for authentication, content, updates, maps, notifications, audio, sharing, and distribution. We do not control those providers and are not responsible for their independent services.

7. Availability and updates

The App may require an internet connection and may be unavailable because of maintenance, network conditions, provider outages, or events outside our control. We may release updates, change features, or discontinue all or part of the App. You are responsible for installing updates needed for security, compatibility, or continued access.

8. Disclaimers and liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the App and its content are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties that they will be uninterrupted, secure, accurate, complete, or fit for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sile Qelbachin and its contributors are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive loss arising from your use of or inability to use the App. Mandatory rights that cannot be excluded remain unaffected.

9. Ending use

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, misuse the App, create risk, or if legal or operational reasons require it. Sections concerning license limits, ownership, user content, disclaimers, liability, and disputes survive termination.

10. Changes and contact

We may update these Terms by publishing a revised version on this page and changing the “Last updated” date. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
